[4-7 July 2011] International Conference on Quality in Research (QiR 2011), UI

After successfully held QiR 2009, the Faculty of Engineering University of Indonesia, is pleased to announce its 12th International Conference on Quality in Research (QiR 2011), and is now calling for papers. For the first time, the conference will be held out of campus. It will be held in a famous island of Indonesia, Bali, on 4-7 July 2011.

The selected theme for this year conference is “Integrated Design in Urban Eco-Technology for Quality of Life and Humanity”. With this theme the conference focuses on the scientific analysis and design of the key factors explaining successes of applications of integrated design in urban eco-technology, their market perspectives and their contribution to the existing and future development of humanity. In line with the theme, it is our utmost pleasure to hold the QiR 2011 in conjunction with the 2nd International Conference on Saving Energy in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (ICSERA 2011).

Sustainable development requires the implementation of appropriate environmentally friendly technologies which are both efficient and adapted to local conditions. In this situation, eco-technology practices can facilitate conserve and restore the environment through the integration of engineering and ecological principles. Eco-technology requires multidisciplinary synthesis of knowledge and skills, and the development and application of eco-technology in industry and services sector is therefore a key requirement for sustainable development process.

The QiR and ICSERA 2011 will bring together national and international frontliner, thinkers, academics, executives, government and business officials, practitioners and leaders to present and discuss a wide range of engineering and architectural issues in the achievement of excellence products/projects/services in urban eco-technology. It is our aim and hope that this conference would be able to provide an international forum for exchange of the knowledge, experience and research as well as the review of progress and discussion on the state of the art and future trend and prospective collaboration and networking in the broad field of integrated design in urban eco-technology development.
