Loughborough University Graduate School is delighted to offer fully funded Graduate School studentships to students in Art & Design Practice, History and Theory of Art & Design, Literary & Cultural Studies, Drama & Theatre Studies, Linguistics & related areas, Creative Writing, Design Practice, Design Education, User Centred Design, European Union & Area Studies, Political Theory, Modern History, International Relations and many other areas.

Across all of its subject areas the University is able to offer over 50 Graduate School studentships for exceptionally well qualified students who want to embark on a full-time research degree programme commencing in Autumn Term 2012.

In addition, we are offering 2 Glendonbrook Doctoral Fellowships for outstanding candidates. These awards, funded through the generosity of Lord Glendonbrook, will be made on the same basis as the Graduate School studentships, and may be held in any of the University's schools.

Internationally renowned for its research excellence, the University has a vibrant research student community of around 1200 students supported by a £6Million annual investment. In the most recent Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) every department was found to be undertaking research that is internationally recognised, with many regarded as 'world leading'. Comfortably ranked in the top 20 of all major university league tables, the University was awarded The Sunday Times University of the Year 2008-2009 and was voted The Times Higher Education 'Best Student Experience' for four years running.

As a research student you will become involved in leading edge research, and provided with research skills training and support from internationally recognised academics.

Each studentship is valued at £13,590 (or any higher figure subsequently determined by EPSRC for its research studentships for 2011-12) plus tuition fees at the UK/EU rate. Applicants must be eligible to pay tuition fees at UK/EU rates.
